Alpha is an informal gathering of people who are each interested in exploring the meaning of life and learning about Christianity.  It is a place where all questions are fair to bring up and discuss in a friendly environment.  A 20 - 30 minute video is shown each week.  This can be in a church, a home, a business, a university and quite often a meal is shared together.  Alpha has been enjoyed by over 22 million people across the globe!

About Alpha:  Group Discussion formats for seekers, started with a video teaching by Alpha.  Small group studies always include more non-believers than believers and are open for free discussion.  The approach is to create forums of small groups with more non-believers than believers, with freedom to ask questions, and letting the Holy Spirit do the heavy lifting.  Based in the UK, this has had fantastic results in homes, businesses, and churches.    Barna published that 50% of Alpha attendees make a long-term commitment to Christ.

Wikipedia: The Alpha Course grew rapidly in the UK in the 1990s, from just 4 courses in 1991 to 2,500 in 1995. A peak was reached in 1998, when 10,500 courses were run.  In 2015, the Alpha website described the project as running in 169 countries and 112 languages, with over 24 million people having taken the course.[7] Courses have been by Anglican, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, British New Church Movement and Orthodox[5] churches and the Roman Catholic Church

Here are testimonies from a 10-week Alpha group my wife and a friend ran at Life Church in East Syracuse ~ John Decker, author of this site.   Nine people came none of whom were believers, and several were vocal atheists.   By the end of 10 weeks all were committed to Christ, going to our church plus some others.  They were all significantly touched and now growing in the faith.  Some are now helpers in the next Alpha group.  Here are their stories..
